We are now expanding our Education delivery capability and seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead a portfolio of AI and digital transformation projects across universities and colleges.
About the Role
As a Senior Project Manager (Education), you will deliver a diverse range of AI programmes and digital transformation projects across Higher and Further Education institutions. These may include:
- COTS configuration and deployment
- Bespoke and semi‑bespoke software development
- AI Transformation Assessments and consultancy engagements
You will lead multi‑workstream delivery, manage project governance, coordinate cross‑functional technical teams, and act as the primary point of contact for academic, IT, and operational stakeholders. This is a high‑impact role with the opportunity to shape the future of AI within Education, demonstrating ICS.AI's capabilities in transforming student experience, service efficiency, and digital service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary point of contact for Education sector clients during project delivery
- Represent ICS.AI at Project Boards, Steering Groups, and governance forums
- Manage project teams and stakeholders across academic, IT, and professional services
- Deliver all elements of the PRINCE2 Agile project lifecycle
- Ensure project quality through test plans, governance reviews, and risk management
- Manage risks, issues, mitigations, and escalation paths
- Oversee project budgets, commercial changes, and financial tracking
- Produce all core governance artefacts including PID, RAID logs, highlight reports, and change requests
- Lead discovery workshops, requirements sessions, and solution walkthroughs
- Coordinate resources across delivery, engineering, data, and product teams
- Support PMO continuous improvement activities
- Ensure effective change management and adoption planning for education stakeholders
Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum 5 years in a Project Management Office role
- PRINCE2 Foundation certification (PRINCE2 Practitioner and ITIL Foundation desirable)
- Strong understanding of PRINCE2 Agile SCRUM methodologies
- Experience implementing AI, software, SaaS, or digital transformation solutions
- Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects or workstreams
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and organisational skills
- Experience in budget management, risk management, and governance
- Ability to translate technical concepts to academic and operational audiences
- Workshop facilitation and requirements gathering experience
