The post holder will support the General Manager in the day-to-day operational and performance management of the Cancer business unit. You will provide effective leadership contributing towards the achievement of the financial forecast and delivery of contracted activity, to implement local/national policy/strategy and deliver service development.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Management of the identified part of the Business Unit, including ward areas, assessment units, outpatient areas, and administrative areas.
  • Building relationships with our system partners.
  • Ensuring the delivery of key performance targets within the service area as agreed with the General Manager.
  • Developing and implementing systems for monitoring demand, trends and ensuring staffing levels are appropriate for the demand level.
