Norwich City Football Club is seeking a Head of Physiotherapy to lead physiotherapy provision across the Men's First Team, Women's, and Academy programmes. The role reports to the Performance Director and carries full clinical and operational responsibility for a large, multi-disciplinary team. This is a hands-on position.
The Head of Physiotherapy will be the primary Men's First Team physio, covering daily training, matchdays, and travel. Strong leadership experience is required, but so is the genuine ability and desire to remain clinically active.
What You'll Be Responsible For:
- Leading physiotherapy, soft tissue therapy, and rehabilitation services across all three squads
- Acting as the primary Men's First Team physiotherapist, including matchday bench duties
- Designing and delivering injury prevention and return-to-performance programmes
- Managing major injury rehabilitation, including ACL and other complex cases
- Overseeing a departmental budget
- Driving evidence-based clinical standards across the department
Essential Criteria:
- Professional football experience — non-negotiable
- HCPC registration — essential
- Proven leadership and staff management experience
- Strong ACL and major injury rehabilitation background
- Academy physiotherapy experience
- Experience across more than one club or performance environment
- Must be based within, or willing to relocate to, 30 minutes of Norwich
Desirable:
- Postgraduate physiotherapy qualification
- MACP registration
- Diagnostic ultrasound and injection therapy competency
- Women's football experience
