Overview

Full Time – Permanent. ICP Search is partnering with a leader in IP and cloud-based broadcast technology, a pioneering UK company whose software powers critical live video workflows for major global broadcasters, streaming platforms, and media organisations. This is a great opportunity to join a team shaping the future of video-over-IP and cloud-based broadcast infrastructure.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Broadcast Engineer who wants to step away from client-facing roles and shift their focus toward solution validation, testing, and internal platform development. You’ll sit at the intersection of Broadcast Engineering and Software Development, acting as the technical gatekeeper for product releases. This isn’t a traditional QA or test automation role; it’s a chance to bring your hands-on broadcast expertise to a team developing innovative IP video solutions.

Who this role is for

  • You’ve worked as a Broadcast or Video Systems Engineer
  • You’re familiar with media transport protocols like RTP, UDP, SRT, MPEG-TS
  • You’ve used tools like Wireshark, and are confident in Linux environments
  • You enjoy solving complex problems, validating solutions, and ensuring engineering quality
  • You’re comfortable scripting or keen to grow your skills in Python or automation

What you’ll do

  • Own the testing and validation of new video platform releases
  • Work closely with development and systems teams to diagnose and reproduce issues
  • Create and maintain test plans, performance documentation, and release notes
  • Provide technical insight to ensure systems meet broadcast-grade reliability
  • Contribute to the internal “gate” process to determine when products are ready to ship

Bonus points

  • Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, etc.)
  • Familiarity with broadcast video standards (e.g. ST 2110, HEVC, JPEG-XS)
  • Any exposure to Python scripting, automation, or monitoring frameworks
