College Services Coordinator in Portsmouth

International College Portsmouth (ICP) is looking for a College Services Coordinator to join our College Services Team. Based at the heart of the University of Portsmouth campus, ICP supports students from around the world as they begin their journey towards a University of Portsmouth degree.

Reporting to the College Operations Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring our students receive the support they need to succeed academically and personally. You will work closely with students, colleagues across ICP and our University partners, with a particular focus on identifying and supporting students who may need additional support to reach their full potential.

At the heart of this role is being an advocate for our students: getting to know them as individuals, identifying barriers to learning and helping put the right support, adjustments and interventions in place.

Key responsibilities

• Support students throughout their journey at ICP, including registration, re-registration, academic progression and day-to-day student services.
• Identify and support students who may be at risk of not achieving their full potential, including those requiring welfare, attendance, behavioural or Under-18 support.
• Maintain the College’s SEN(D) register and support the creation and review of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities or additional educational needs.
• Coordinate key academic processes including predicted grades, missed assessments, explained absences, Extenuating Circumstances, academic misconduct, appeals and academic referrals/resits.
• Support the collection and analysis of data relating to progression, retention, student satisfaction and outcomes.
• Contribute to academic quality assurance and continuous enhancement activity across the College.
• Work collaboratively with the University of Portsmouth and act as a key contact for relevant student support services.
• Support sponsored students, safeguarding, student records, accommodation enquiries and other College operational activities.
• Help provide an inclusive, supportive and high-quality student experience for our diverse international student community.

About you

We are looking for a proactive, compassionate and highly organised individual who enjoys working directly with students and can confidently manage a varied workload.

You will ideally have:

• A Bachelor’s degree.
• Experience of working in an educational setting.
• Experience of supporting students with additional needs.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with people from diverse cultural and educational backgrounds.
• Excellent organisational, team-working and prioritisation skills.
• Confidence working with data, spreadsheets and Microsoft Office.
• A good understanding of equality, equity and inclusion.
• A collaborative approach, professional empathy, integrity, flexibility and resilience.
• SEN(D) training and/or a PGCE or other education qualification would be desirable.

Salary & benefits

This is a permanent, full-time, on-site position in Portsmouth, with a salary of £30,250 per annum, with annual increments based on performance.
