About iCoTech Services

iCoTech Services is a Cardiff‑based consultancy specialising in Microsoft Power Platform solutions for public‑sector organisations. We help clients improve project portfolio management, enterprise risk management, strategic planning, and operational oversight through modern digital solutions. Our customers include local authorities, NHS organisations, and public‑sector bodies across the UK.

Role Purpose

The Sales Development Representative (SDR) at iCoTech is responsible for generating and qualifying new sales opportunities, ensuring a consistent and high‑quality pipeline for the Business Development team. This role sits throughout the sales funnel, bridging marketing activity and sales conversations. The SDR focus is on identifying, qualifying, and booking well‑qualified Demo meetings. You'll work closely with our Marketing Manager to ensure MQLs are followed up fast and converted to meetings with precision and you'll be the one deciding how that process works. Our buyers are Project, Risk and Strategy Management Stakeholders. They're technical, busy and allergic to generic outreach. Your system will need to reflect that.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead generation & prospecting: Research and identify target public‑sector organisations and stakeholders. Conduct outbound prospecting via LinkedIn, email, and phone. Support campaign‑led activity (webinars, thought leadership, frameworks).
  • Lead qualification: Qualify inbound and outbound leads against agreed criteria. Understand customer challenges, priorities, and readiness to engage. Ensure only high‑quality, well‑briefed opportunities reach BDMs.
  • Meeting booking: Book discovery and qualification meetings for Business Development Managers. Provide clear context, notes, and customer insight ahead of meetings.
  • CRM & data management: Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records in the CRM. Track outreach, engagement, and qualification status. Support data quality and reporting across the Growth function.

What we're looking for

  • 3+ years in a business development role, with at least one experience building or significantly rebuilding a sales development process - not just running within one someone else created.
  • Strong outbound skills - able to excel in phone-based, email-based and in-person prospecting.
  • Strong interest in automation and growth tech.
  • An interest/prior experience in account-based marketing.
  • Demonstrable track record of MQL-to-SQL conversion with evidence to back it up.
  • A genuine interest in process design: you find it satisfying to build something that works repeatedly, not just close individual meetings.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communications, our customers are professionals.
  • Experience working in close partnership with a marketing function, giving and receiving feedback on what's driving pipeline, what's working well and not so well.
  • Comfortable operating with ambiguity and minimal management overhead.

Salary & Benefits

A great salary between £35,000 - £45,000 depending on experience. OTE available of £60,000. A standard mileage allowance will be paid for travel, and overnight accommodation for client visits is paid for. The company operates a Shareholder EMI scheme. 25 Days + 8 Days Bank Holidays. Home based contract, with flexibility for some travel to iCoHub. Committed Training Plan Cycle to Work Scheme.
