Innovation Consultant

We want an experienced and passionate Proposal Writer that has a proven track record of crafting and developing compelling and collaborative, winning proposals. Ideally based within the UK or Spain but open to European based candidates.

The Iconiq Person

• Demonstrable experience crafting winning proposals for national and international funding bodies is essential from collaborative projects.
• A proven track record in preparing and writing Horizon Europe proposals, Innovate UK, European Commission, Eureka and other funding proposals is essential to support our market leading success rates.
• You will have a proactive attitude coupled with a tenacious drive to consistently deliver the best proposals.
• An effective communicator both written and verbally with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to understand and challenge complex technical information.
• Experience working to immovable deadlines.
• You are detail-oriented whilst being able to keep an eye on the bigger picture.
• You are adaptable and embrace change with the desire to learn new skills.
• Able to work independently but also as part of a collaborative team when required.
• You are highly driven with the ability to motivate and influence those around you.
• A creative problem-solver that is passionate about innovation and able to manage both internal and external stakeholders.
• A strong interest in technology and innovation is a must.
• Ideally educated to degree level (or equivalent experience) in a science or business related subject. Post-graduate qualifications (PhD, MSc, MBA) in these fields would be advantageous but not essential.

The Iconiq Role

• The role involves all aspects of building a concept – finding the golden nugget of innovation, identifying the partners that will help drive the concept forward, crafting a narrative that accentuates the game-changing elements but remains accessible to experts and laypeople.
• The role can be fast-paced and complex, requiring planning to meet deadlines and manage clients that could be disruptive SMEs, leading research and technology providers and universities as well as multinational industry leaders.
• Reviewing competition and call briefing documents and communicating what any given proposal requires to be ‘winning’.
• Leading meetings with consortium members to define concepts and project ideas.
• Working closely with the business development team to identify the best partners to collaborate with.
• Carrying out due diligence/techno-economic feasibility studies.
• Drive the development of proposal concepts through crafting a logical narrative that covers need, innovations and solutions and is delivered in a detailed and well-structured final proposition.
• Building meaningful relationships with experts amongst the consortium.
• Providing regular updates on the status of a proposal to internal and external stakeholders.
• Be the driving force for high-quality information exchange between industrial, academic and research consortium partners.
• Assisting with knowledge transfer workshops to define innovative concepts and solutions for our clients.
• Being responsible and accountable for your proposals – making sure they are prepared to a high standard, evaluated and submitted on time, every time.
• Reporting information to inform the development of the Iconiq team and proposition.

This is an extremely varied, exciting, and dynamic position. It will bring challenges and plenty of opportunities to excel. You will be joining an international team of the brightest minds that are determined to deliver excellent outcomes for our clients, and us. This is a full-time, permanent role, however, for the right candidate with the right credentials we are open minded. We are remote-first, meaning that you will likely be remote-based with travel to Iconiq HQ on a regular basis, or you could be office-based if appropriate. Some travel nationally and internationally will be required occasionally.
