UK Payroll Analyst
Location: Aberdeen, Stirling, Glasgow or Edinburgh
Our client is looking for a skilled and motivated Payroll Analyst to join our dynamic payroll team, within their well-established Accountancy firm. This is a key role where you\’ll take the lead in managing client relationships, overseeing day-to-day payroll operations, and supporting the development of the team. If you\’re a proactive self-starter with a passion for payroll and people, this is a fantastic opportunity to grow your career in a supportive, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of client scheduling and ensure adherence to agreed payroll process manuals.
- Process payrolls and oversee team resources to meet deadlines and maintain high-quality standards, using the Bureau Management System daily.
- Lead payroll projects and support continuous improvement efforts by identifying and implementing process enhancements.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships across your portfolio—handling processes, monitoring recoveries, and resolving any fee-related queries.
- Work closely with the Payroll Manager to identify training needs and support team development through coaching and knowledge sharing.
- Supervise daily team activities, providing clear direction, setting expectations, and offering regular, constructive feedback.
- Manage all payroll-related correspondence for your clients and ensure queries are resolved promptly.
- Monitor and respond to employer and employee enquiries within agreed timelines, escalating issues when necessary.
- Take charge of new client onboarding—managing the full implementation process from start to finish.
- Develop and maintain a working knowledge of pension schemes, including setup and administration.

- Previous experience in a similar payroll role
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal
- Proven ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities
- Confident working independently as well as part of a collaborative team
- High level of numeracy and attention to detail
- A team player who builds strong working relationships at all levels
