Iconic Resourcing is delighted to be working exclusively with a well-established, SME manufacturing business based in the Stirling area to recruit an experienced Financial Controller. This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of the full finance function within a close-knit, values-driven organisation that has built a strong reputation in its sector over many years. Reporting directly to the Board, you'll be the key financial lead for the business. On offer is a highly competitive salary plus benefits and the role is based full time in the office.

Responsibilities:

  • Producing monthly management accounts with clear commentary on business performance, trends and variances
  • Taking ownership of all financial statements, forecasts and reports, ensuring a consistently high standard of accuracy
  • Running the monthly payroll process, including commission calculations and all HMRC and pension submissions
  • Managing quarterly VAT returns and maintaining compliance with applicable financial regulations
  • Coordinating the year-end audit, preparing relevant documentation and serving as the primary liaison with external auditors
  • Partnering with department heads to support budgeting cycles and forward financial planning
  • Identifying and reporting on variances and trends, turning data into insight that supports sound commercial decision-making

Previous Experience

Our client is seeking a qualified accountant (CA, ACCA or CIMA), though we will equally consider candidates who are qualified by experience, with a proven track record in a similar senior finance role. Experience within manufacturing or a related sector would be a distinct advantage. Strong working knowledge of Sage Line 50, Sage Payroll and Excel is essential, as is the ability to present financial information clearly and confidently at Board level. You'll be a detail-oriented self-starter, comfortable taking ownership in an SME environment where your contribution will be visible and valued.
