Are you a skilled Dispute Resolution Solicitor looking to join a dynamic and growing legal team? We are seeking a talented individual to become a key part of our expanding Dispute Resolution Department. This is an excellent opportunity to manage your own caseload while benefiting from the support of an experienced, collaborative team.
As a Solicitor in our Dispute Resolution department, you will handle a varied caseload of commercial disputes, representing clients in courts across Scotland. You will act as a trusted advisor, providing clear guidance, managing complex legal issues, and advocating for clients in hearings, mediations, and tribunals.
You will work alongside a supportive team of Partners, Senior Solicitors, and Trainee Solicitors, as well as dedicated legal support staff. This role provides the opportunity for professional growth and career development, including the potential for promotion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in contentious matters, including hearings in the Sheriff Courts and the Court of Session
- Provide advocacy in tribunals, arbitrations, and mediations
- Draft pleadings, take statements, prepare cases for proofs/debates, and instruct expert witnesses
- Actively contribute to business development opportunities
- Collaborate with team members to manage caseloads efficiently
- Liaise with experts and instruct Counsel as required
- Support Partners in driving forward business initiatives
Who We’re Looking For:
- Practising Solicitor with 2+ years PQE in dispute resolution or commercial litigation
- Strong technical knowledge and excellent advocacy skills
- Exceptional communication, organisational, and client management abilities
- Proactive, responsive, and able to work independently
- Positive, flexible, and collaborative team player
- Ability to engage with clients and colleagues at all levels
