Senior HR Advisor

Senior HR Advisor

On-site
I

We’re working with an established organisation in Renfrewshire to appoint an experienced Senior HR Advisor to join their People team. This is a broad, operational HR role suited to someone who enjoys being close to the day-to-day workforce, working directly with managers and employees and providing practical, commercially focused HR advice.

Reporting to the HR Manager, you’ll take responsibility for a varied generalist HR remit, supporting managers across the full employee lifecycle. This is a role where you’ll be visible across the organisation, building strong relationships with managers and providing pragmatic advice and support across a busy operational environment.

Duties will include:

  • Providing day-to-day HR advice and guidance to managers across the employee lifecycle
  • Supporting managers with employee relations matters including absence, disciplinary, grievance, capability and performance
  • Coaching managers and helping them build confidence in dealing with people issues
  • Supporting the management of attendance, absence and employee wellbeing matters
  • Advising on the interpretation and application of HR policies and procedures
  • Supporting recruitment and selection activity, working closely with hiring managers and external suppliers where required
  • Assisting with onboarding and employee lifecycle processes
  • Maintaining accurate HR records and supporting HR reporting and management information
  • Supporting reward and salary benchmarking activity
  • Contributing to manager training and development
  • Supporting the implementation and review of HR policies, processes and procedures
  • Getting involved in wider HR projects and initiatives where required
  • Building strong relationships with managers and employees and providing a responsive, practical HR service

We’re looking for an experienced HR Advisor or HR Generalist who enjoys a varied, operational role and being closely involved in the day-to-day HR needs of the business. You’ll ideally have experience working within manufacturing, engineering or another complex operational environment, although relevant experience in other workforce-led settings will also be considered. You’ll be comfortable dealing with employee relations matters and supporting managers through sometimes challenging situations. You’ll have the confidence to give clear advice, ask the right questions and challenge managers constructively where needed.

This role would suit someone who enjoys being visible, accessible and hands-on in their approach to HR, rather than being purely office-based or focused on longer-term strategic projects. You’ll be comfortable getting into the detail, building relationships across different levels of the workforce and responding quickly to the needs of managers and employees.

As an equal opportunities employer, we treat all applicants fairly and equally.

We act as both an employment business and an employment agency and are happy to accommodate any reasonable adjustments required.
