We’re looking for an experienced Resource Manager to act as a trusted advisor to leaders across the organisation, ensuring the right people, with the right skills, are in the right place at the right time, all while balancing performance, wellbeing and readiness for a once-in-a-generation event. As Resource Manager, you’ll sit at the heart of Games delivery. You’ll work closely with senior leaders, project teams and operational partners to plan, allocate and optimise resources across a complex, fast-moving programme. This role is both strategic and hands on, perfect for someone who thrives in high-profile environments, enjoys solving complex people challenges, and wants their work to have visible, lasting impact.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Develop short, medium and long term resource plans aligned to Games delivery demands
  • Allocate people across projects and workstreams based on skills, availability and priority
  • Anticipate pressure points and proactively recommend solutions (re-allocation, hiring, contractors)
  • Balance utilisation with wellbeing, ensuring performance without burnout
  • Support the development of SEC readiness programmes ahead of the Games
  • Identify training gaps and specialist event training needs
  • Contribute to operational readiness assurance across SEC teams and partners
  • Help develop clear, accessible team guides, briefings and event information
  • Partner closely with delivery leads, project managers and department heads
  • Act as the go-to decision-maker for resourcing questions and escalations
  • Navigate competing priorities and facilitate effective, pragmatic solutions
  • Track utilisation, capacity and demand using agreed tools and metrics
  • Produce clear, insightful dashboards and reports for leadership
  • Identify trends, risks and opportunities to improve how resources are deployed
  • Help shape and embed best-practice resourcing processes and governance

We’re keen to speak with candidates who bring proven experience in resource or capacity planning within complex environments, alongside strong analytical capability and confidence using advanced Excel or resource management tools. You’ll be comfortable working across matrixed, fast-paced programmes and have an understanding of project delivery methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall or hybrid approaches. Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills are essential, as is a balanced mindset, someone who is commercially astute, people-centred, and detail-driven.

This is a rare opportunity to be part of a world-class international sporting event, working in a highly visible, high-impact role with exposure to senior leadership. You’ll contribute to a legacy moment for Glasgow and Scotland, collaborating with passionate, purpose-driven teams on something truly special, an opportunity that doesn’t come around often.
