Iconic Resourcing is delighted to be partnering with a large, well-established organisation to appoint a Lead Business Partner to join their People team. This is a key leadership role within a progressive HR function and offers the opportunity to shape and strengthen the organisation’s Business Partnering approach during a period of ongoing transformation and change.

Reporting to the Head of HR, the successful candidate will lead an experienced team of HR Business Partners, providing visible leadership, coaching and direction while ensuring a high quality, pragmatic and commercially focused people service is delivered across the organisation. This role requires a confident and credible people leader who can operate effectively within a complex stakeholder environment, balancing operational priorities with longer term people objectives.

You’ll play a central role in driving consistency, strengthening capability across the team, and building strong relationships with senior leaders across the organisation.

The Role:

  • Lead, develop and inspire a team of HR Business Partners and Recruitment Advisors, creating a high-performing and collaborative culture
  • Provide strong operational leadership across the HR Business Partnering function, ensuring consistency and quality of service delivery
  • Act as a senior escalation point for complex and sensitive employee relations matters, including cases involving senior stakeholders
  • Partner with leaders across the organisation to support workforce planning, organisational change and people-related initiatives
  • Support and lead change activity, ensuring clear communication, stakeholder engagement and effective people management throughout
  • Build trusted and credible relationships with senior stakeholders, providing constructive challenge and professional guidance where required
  • Work collaboratively across the wider People function to drive continuous improvement in processes, practices and employee experience
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and evolution of the organisation’s people strategy and HR operating model

About you:

  • We’re keen to speak with experienced HR leaders who bring a strong background in managing and developing HR teams within a Business Partnering environment
  • You’ll be a resilient and approachable leader with the ability to navigate complexity, influence stakeholders and support teams through periods of change with confidence and credibility
  • Proven experience leading and managing HR professionals within a Business Partnering model
  • Strong leadership capability with experience developing high-performing teams
  • Significant employee relations experience, including complex and high-risk case management
  • Experience operating within a unionised or highly regulated environment
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the confidence to influence and challenge at senior level
  • A pragmatic, solutions-focused approach with the ability to balance operational demands and strategic priorities
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Public sector experience would be beneficial but is not essential
