Part-Time Business & Finance Analyst
(20 hours a week | Hybrid working available | Permanent | East Lothian)

We’re working with a well-established, values-driven organisation that’s looking for a Business & Finance Analyst to support their Head of Finance. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys combining analytical thinking with hands‑on financial management.

The Role

You’ll play a key part in delivering accurate financial analysis, business reporting, and data insights to help guide both day‑to‑day operations and longer‑term strategy. Leading a small, capable finance team, you’ll ensure robust delivery of all core finance functions while also supporting process improvements and systems development.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyse monthly management accounts, including commentary on results and forecasts
• Reconcile payroll, balance sheet, and nominal ledger accounts
• Support with VAT returns and statutory reporting
• Produce financial and business intelligence reports for senior management
• Manage and develop two Finance Assistants
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and ad‑hoc forecasts
• Lead or support on finance system improvements and process efficiencies
• Provide analytical support for senior leadership on key projects and performance monitoring

About You

• A finance professional with solid experience in management accounting, analysis, and reporting
• Strong systems and Excel skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy
• Comfortable leading small teams and managing day‑to‑day finance operations
• Analytical, proactive, and confident in communicating with non-financial colleagues
• Ideally AAT qualified (or working towards), or equivalent experience
