A rare opportunity has arisen for a Corporate Solicitor to join the Glasgow office of a leading international law firm, working as part of their highly regarded UK wide corporate practice. The firm has a strong international client base and a reputation for advising sophisticated businesses, financial sponsors and investors on high value, complex transactions. The team is deliberately selective in its growth, but now the team are looking to add a high calibre Solicitor to support continued demand.
The Opportunity
You will work alongside experienced corporate solicitors across Scotland and London, advising on a broad range of transactional matters. The work will include exposure to:
- Private equity transactions and sponsor led investments
- Private M&A and acquisitions/disposals
- Joint ventures and strategic investments
- Portfolio company matters and corporate governance
- Reorganisations and restructurings
- Transactions across sectors including energy, infrastructure, technology, construction and consumer
The wider practice advises a diverse client base including private equity funds, pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, major corporates, investment banks and financial advisory firms. Given the international nature of the practice, there is scope to work with colleagues and clients across different jurisdictions, with opportunities for international secondments and relocation available within the wider firm.
The Team
The corporate practice forms part of a broader UK and international corporate platform, with work shared across offices rather than operating as a standalone Scottish team. The practice has particular strength in advising financial sponsors and investors, including on acquisitions, divestments, portfolio management and investment structures, alongside complex corporate transactions for listed and private companies. The Glasgow office has a broad mix of corporate, banking and finance, technology, commercial and dispute resolution, in addition to a large in house advisory function.
You will have:
