An established, values-led national organisation is seeking an experienced Solicitor to join its in-house legal function based in Edinburgh. This is a rare opportunity to work within a highly respected, purpose-driven organisation whose work spans property, governance, employment, contracts and regulatory matters across Scotland.
The legal team operates as a full-service function, providing trusted advice to a wide range of internal stakeholders and committees. The role offers exceptional breadth, variety and intellectual challenge, making it ideal for a solicitor who enjoys complex work, autonomy and the chance to continually develop their expertise.
You will work as part of a collaborative team of solicitors, advising on both contentious and non-contentious matters. The work is wide-ranging and includes:
- Advising on disputes, litigation and court representation where required
- Supporting compliance, governance and regulatory matters
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a variety of commercial and service contracts
- Providing employment law advice, including tribunal-related work
- Supporting disciplinary investigations and internal tribunal processes
- Advising on property-related legal matters across a diverse portfolio
- Working closely with colleagues to deliver practical, solutions-focused legal advice
Training and support will be provided as you embed into the role, particularly in specialist areas. You will be a qualified solicitor with 2 years PQE experience and a current practising certificate.
You will bring:
- Strong litigation and dispute resolution experience
- Sound knowledge of contract law and excellent drafting skills
- Confidence advising senior stakeholders on complex legal issues
- The ability to manage a demanding and varied workload
- Excellent communication, analytical and organisational skills
- Experience in employment law and/or the charity or voluntary sector would be advantageous, but is not essential.
