Thornliebank (office based with regular site inspections across Scotland)

Full time & Permanent

Up to £40,000

Iconic Resourcing are delighted to be retained by Union Technical to appoint a HSE Advisor, supporting the continued growth of their business across Scotland.

Union Technical is one of Scotland’s leading providers of energy efficiency, renewable energy, insulation and heating solutions, working with homeowners, landlords, housing associations and local authorities to improve the energy performance of homes across the UK.

Since its establishment in 2014, the business has built a strong reputation for quality, compliance and customer service. The organisation continues to invest in its people, processes and systems as it scales its operations and delivers innovative solutions that support the UK’s net-zero ambitions.

This is an excellent opportunity for a health and safety professional who enjoys collaborating with people, building strong relationships and influencing positive behaviours. You’ll be equally comfortable carrying out site inspections, supporting audits and investigations, and engaging with colleagues across all levels of the organisation.

The role is based in the Thornliebank office, with regular site inspections across Scotland, including the Highlands (currently around once a fortnight). It is an advisory and compliance role focused on inspections, audits, investigations, documentation and training, with a significant desk-based element.

The Role

  • Supporting the implementation and continuous improvement of health and safety processes and procedures
  • Conducting site inspections across operational locations throughout Scotland, including the Highlands
  • Assisting with risk assessments, RAMS reviews and safe systems of work
  • Supporting incident and accident investigations, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions
  • Assisting with internal audits and compliance activities
  • Maintaining health and safety records, documentation and reporting requirements
  • Supporting the business in meeting ISO 4501 standards and best practice
  • Delivering health and safety guidance, training and awareness initiatives
  • Building positive working relationships with employees, site teams, managers and directors

About You

We’re keen to speak with candidates who can demonstrate:

  • IOSH qualification as a minimum
  • Health and safety experience gained in any industry sector
  • Knowledge of risk assessments, incident investigations and compliance processes
  • A good understanding of health and safety legislation and best practice
  • Exposure to management systems such as ISO 4501, or an understanding of their importance would be beneficial
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • The confidence to challenge when required while maintaining positive working relationships
  • A collaborative, pragmatic and approachable style
  • A full UK driving licence and happy to travel across Scotland, including the Highlands, as required

At Iconic Resourcing, we understand that not all candidates will meet every single desired qualification or skill for the job positions posted on behalf of our clients. However, if you believe that you can add value to the role despite your experience looking a little different from what we’ve identified, we would be thrilled to learn more about you.

Iconic Resourcing are committed to partnering with clients who share our values of inclusivity and diversity. We work with many businesses that recognise the importance of creating a welcoming and respectful workplace for all employees. As an equal opportunities employer, we treat all applications fairly and equally. We act as both an employment business and an employment agency and are happy to accommodate any reasonable adjustments required.
