We are delighted to be partnering with a highly regarded national law firm to recruit a Director or Partner level Employment Lawyer into their expanding Employment team based in Edinburgh. This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the UK’s leading Employment teams, recognised nationally within the legal directories and known for advising a diverse client base ranging from SMEs to major PLCs across a broad range of complex employment law matters.
Importantly, this is a national practice that has successfully attracted individuals from some of the top firms across Scotland. The wider Scottish offering already includes established teams across Real Estate, Dispute Resolution, Planning, Banking & Finance and Corporate, providing a strong platform and referral network for someone looking to further grow and shape an Employment practice in Scotland.
The successful individual would be supported both by the existing national Employment team and the wider Scottish office as they continue to build out their own client base, team and long-term practice presence.
The Role
Due to continued growth and increasing client demand, the team is seeking an experienced Employment Lawyer with the ambition and commercial mindset to help shape the future growth strategy of the practice. You will advise clients on a wide range of contentious and non-contentious employment matters including disciplinary and grievance issues, unfair dismissal, discrimination, TUPE, restructures, redundancies, whistleblowing and strategic employment law advice to senior leadership teams and boards. The role will also involve supporting business development activity, growing and developing client relationships and contributing to the continued expansion of the Employment offering across the wider UK business.
This opportunity would particularly suit someone looking for a platform to further develop their profile and practice within a collaborative, well-supported and forward-thinking environment.
About You
The firm is keen to hear from experienced Employment Lawyers operating at Director, Legal Director, Senior Associate looking to step up, or Partner level with strong technical employment law expertise gained within a commercial practice environment. You will ideally bring an existing client following, referral network or demonstrable business development capability, alongside the drive to contribute to the continued growth of a successful national Employment team. The successful candidate will be commercially minded, collaborative and enthusiastic about helping shape team strategy while continuing to deliver exceptional client service.
The Opportunity
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly respected and award-winning firm offering genuine flexibility, an inclusive culture and access to high-quality national work. The Employment team has experienced significant growth over recent years and continues to invest heavily in its people, technology and long-term strategic growth plans. The firm offers a supportive leadership structure, flexible working arrangements and excellent progression opportunities within a collaborative environment.
