Aim of the role: To ensure that all food preparation and dishes are made to the standard laid by the Company and responsible for day to day management of the Pastry team.

Responsibilities
- To take ownership for the Pastry area.
- To show passion and pride in designing new dessert ideas with the Executive Chef.
- To liaise confidently with the Executive Chef about potential improvements or difficulties in your section.
- To train and develop your team, as necessary, to improve performance.
- To assist the Executive Chef during service for timing and progress of all dishes.
- To assist with training, induction and development of the kitchen brigade.
- To control wastage and help maintain food costs.
- To ensure that the presentation, taste, texture and quantity of dishes meet the Company standards.
- To keep the Head Chef and Head Pastry Chef informed of problems in the Kitchen (staff, Health & Safety, equipment, etc.).
- To assist as directed with operation of various sections within the Kitchen.
- To foster a positive relationship between the Restaurant and the Kitchen, focusing on respect and teamwork.
- To focus on guest care and service, continually enhancing the guest experience.
- To ensure ingredients are used as specified by the Head Pastry Chef to maintain quality.
- To participate in required training sessions or meetings with passion.
- To follow Company Policy, Vision Statement and Departmental Objectives at all times.
- To ensure all appliances, fixtures and fittings are safe and compliant with Health & Safety regulations and report faults promptly.
- To maintain high standards of cleanliness in the pastry section and assist with hygiene and cleanliness as needed.
- To be aware of health and safety at work regulations (HASAW Act 1974 and Hygiene Regulation Act 1971) and wear appropriate protection.
- To understand and implement the hotel\βs privacy, confidentiality and data protection policies.
- To be aware of Fire Safety Procedures and Health & Safety regulations.
