About the Role
Reporting to the Cluster Accounts Receivable Manager / Finance Manager, the Cluster Accounts Receivable Clerk is responsible for managing and reconciling high-volume customer payments across a cluster of hotels.
You’ll play a key role in ensuring the accurate processing and reconciliation of credit card settlements, vouchers, deposits, OTA payments, and prepayments.
Working closely with operational and finance teams, you’ll help maintain strong financial controls, support cash flow, and ensure the accuracy of customer financial data across multiple properties.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete daily and monthly reconciliations of credit card, OTA, voucher, and deposit accounts.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies between hotel systems, payment providers, and bank receipts.
- Manage gift voucher sales, redemptions, balances, and third-party voucher settlements.
- Reconcile guest deposits and prepayments, ensuring balances are transferred or refunded in line with company policy.
- Monitor OTA payments, virtual credit cards, and commission reconciliations.
- Follow up on outstanding guest ledger balances and support the management of trade debtors.
- Maintain accurate, audit-ready documentation and support internal and external audit requirements.
- Prepare month-end reconciliation schedules and support balance sheet account reviews.
- Work closely with Front Office, Revenue, Events, Income Audit, and Finance teams to resolve payment and revenue-related queries.
About You
- We’re looking for a highly organised and detail-focused finance professional who has:
- Previous experience within Accounts Receivable, Income Audit, or Hotel Finance.
- Strong reconciliation skills and the ability to manage high volumes of transactional data.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Excel, including lookups, matching functions, and pivot tables.
- Experience using hotel finance and property management systems.
- The ability to work independently while managing competing priorities across multiple hotels.
Desirable
- Experience with credit card reconciliations, voucher management, or OTA payment processes.
- Knowledge of Opera PMS, Micros/Simphony, payment gateways, and SAP By Design or Sage.
- Understanding of virtual credit card (VCC) processes and OTA commission reconciliations.
- AAT Level 2/3 or equivalent finance qualification.
