Aim of the Role
As a member of the Food & Beverage team at Hans Bar & Grill, located within 11 Cadogan Gardens, one of only two Relais & Châteaux properties in London, you will be at the heart of creating exceptional dining experiences for our guests.
As Maitre D', you will be the first point of contact for guests arriving at the restaurant, setting the tone for their experience from the moment they walk through the door.
Working closely with the Food & Beverage Manager and Assistant Food and Beverage Managers, you will oversee reservations, manage guest flow and ensure every guest receives a warm, personalised and seamless experience.
Through your passion for hospitality, attention to detail and commitment to excellence, you will play a key role in ensuring guests leave with lasting memories and a desire to return.

- Maitre D' Responsibilities
- Constantly seek opportunities to go above and beyond for our guests, ensuring every arrival and dining experience is personalised, welcoming and memorable.
- Manage restaurant reservations confidently using the Opera system, ensuring bookings are accurate and guest preferences are recognised wherever possible.
- Oversee the smooth flow of guests from the lounge and bar into the restaurant, ensuring service is organised, efficient and seamless.
- Maximise lunch and dinner covers through effective control of bookings, table allocations and dining times, whilst remaining flexible to accommodate guest requests.
- Build meaningful relationships with guests, using names and titles appropriately and delivering discreet, attentive and professional service at all times.
- Take ownership of all billing and payment procedures, ensuring charges, room postings and payment methods are processed accurately and in line with company procedures.
- Maintain menus to the highest standards, ensuring all food and beverage offerings, descriptions and prices are current and presented professionally.
- Support the delivery of exceptional service standards by ensuring all restaurant procedures and service steps are followed consistently.
- Demonstrate excellent knowledge of the hotel's facilities, services and dining experiences, proactively promoting these opportunities to guests where appropriate.
- Communicate guest feedback, comments, concerns and complaints promptly and professionally to the Food & Beverage Manager or Assistant Restaurant Manager on duty.
- Attend daily briefings and remain fully aware of VIP arrivals, special requests, menu changes and operational updates.
