Iconic Engineering Solutions Ltd is a precision engineering company providing high-quality CNC machining services to customers across motorsport, automotive and advanced manufacturing.
We manufacture a wide range of one-off, prototype and production components using CNC milling, turning, mill-turn and 3D-printing technologies.
We work with materials including aluminium, stainless steel, engineering steels, titanium, brass and engineering plastics.
Responsibilities
- Set and operate CNC milling and turning machines.
- Program or edit CNC programs where competent.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, tolerances and specifications.
- Select and install suitable cutting tools, fixtures and workholding equipment.
- Carry out first-off and in-process inspection using appropriate measuring equipment.
- Monitor machining operations to maintain quality, accuracy and efficiency.
- Make controlled adjustments to tooling offsets and machining parameters where required.
- Identify and resolve machining, tooling or quality issues.
- Deburr, clean and prepare completed components for inspection or dispatch.
- Complete relevant production and quality documentation.
- Maintain clean, safe and organised machines and working areas.
- Support other workshop activities when required, including tooling preparation, material preparation and general housekeeping.
- Follow company health and safety procedures and ISO 9001 quality requirements.
Experience and Skills
- Previous experience setting and operating CNC machinery.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
- Competence using measuring equipment such as micrometers, verniers, bore gauges and height gauges.
- Good understanding of cutting tools, workholding and machining principles. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate work.
- Logical problem-solving and fault-finding ability.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
- Experience with Fanuc controls, CAD/CAM, SOLIDWORKS or Fusion 360 would be advantageous.
- Experience with milling, turning, live tooling, sub-spindles or multi-axis machining would also be beneficial.
