CRA II/Senior CRA - Early Phase

ICON is a global healthcare intelligence and clinical research organisation united by a mission to bring new medicines and treatments to patients faster.

As a values-driven organisation, integrity, collaboration, agility, and inclusion are at the heart of how we work and interact with each other, customers, patients and suppliers.

As a CRA II or Senior CRA within our Early Phase team, you'll play a critical role in studies that sit at the very beginning of the drug development journey, including first-in-human and proof-of-concept research. Working alongside leading investigators, sponsors, and specialist clinical teams, you'll help advance promising new therapies from concept to clinical reality.

Unlike traditional large-scale monitoring roles, you'll focus on a smaller portfolio of approximately 3-4 sites across the UK, enabling you to build strong site relationships, maintain exceptional quality oversight, and make a genuine impact on the success of each study.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Managing site qualification, initiation, monitoring and close-out activities across a portfolio of UK Early Phase studies.
  • Building strong partnerships with investigators and site teams to ensure study success.
  • Ensuring patient safety, protocol compliance, and data integrity throughout the clinical trial lifecycle.
  • Reviewing study data, resolving site queries, and proactively identifying and mitigating risks.
  • Supporting sponsors and project teams through the unique operational challenges associated with early development programmes.
  • Acting as a trusted clinical research expert, providing guidance and support to sites and internal stakeholders.

What We're Looking For

  • CRA II: Previous independent monitoring experience across clinical trials.
  • Senior CRA: Significant independent monitoring experience with the ability to manage complex studies and act as a mentor for less experienced colleagues.
  • Strong understanding of ICH-GCP, regulatory requirements, and clinical trial operations.
  • Excellent relationship-building and communication skills.
  • Ability to work proactively, independently, and collaboratively within a global study team.
  • Life Science, Nursing, Pharmacy, or other relevant healthcare degree (or equivalent experience).
  • Able to travel across the UK as required to complete onsite visits
