As a Biospecimen Scientist, you will join the world's largest & most comprehensive clinical research organization, powered by healthcare intelligence.
Job Purpose
Responsible for implementing and executing all biospecimen-related activities for GCO clinical trials, including safety, pharmacokinetics, biomarkers, and companion diagnostics, in compliance with client processes, regulatory, and ethical standards.
Accountabilities
- Under the oversight of the Clinical Biospecimen Lead Scientist, contribute to technical and operational biospecimen matters for assigned projects, collaborating with internal stakeholders and line functions.
- Provide input on clinical sample assessment in protocols and consents.
- Create study-specific sample collection tables, ensuring blood volume requirements are met.
- Liaise with stakeholders on biospecimen collection and testing needs.
- Set up and oversee laboratory activities related to kit building, sample management, and testing, including documentation.
- Ensure ethical considerations for biospecimen collection and analysis are addressed in protocols and consents.
- Manage biospecimen samples throughout their lifecycle, including timely analysis, proper consent, and storage.
- Define sample requirements for CRFs and data transfer, collaborating with data management and labs.
- Develop training materials on biospecimen collection procedures.
- Handle study close-out activities related to biospecimens and labs.
- Manage relationships with laboratories in collaboration with vendor management.
Risk Management
- Manage relationships with labs and escalate biospecimen-related risks and issues.
Resource Management
- Review lab proposals, contribute to budget planning, and review invoices.
- Ensure compliance with SOPs and best practices, sharing lessons learned.
Activities & Interfaces
- Collaborate with vendor management on lab oversight.
- Coordinate with internal teams to understand biospecimen strategies.
- Ensure biospecimens are collected, analyzed, and data transferred per protocol.
