Hours: Full Time (Mon-Fri, 37.5 hrs per week)

Role Overview

This is a great opportunity for an experienced and motivated Radiation Therapist to step into a clinical lead role, providing leadership and operational oversight within a radiotherapy unit at our specialist cancer centre. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safe, efficient and high-quality delivery of radiotherapy services, while supporting team development, technical excellence, and service innovation.

We are looking for a HCPC-registered professional with a BSc or MSc in Radiotherapy, significant post-qualification experience and strong leadership and people management capability. The ideal candidate will bring advanced technical expertise across radiotherapy processes, excellent communication and organisational skills, and a patient-centred approach. You will be a visible and approachable clinical leader, confident in decision-making, resilient in a fast-paced environment, and committed to continuous improvement, safety and delivering exceptional patient care.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead and manage the radiotherapy team and department, ensuring high-quality, safe and efficient service delivery across the unit.
  • Provide technical expertise, supervision and training to staff, promoting best practice, professional development and high performance.
  • Oversee operational delivery, including workforce planning, workflow management, equipment use and performance monitoring.
  • Drive quality improvement, safety and service development initiatives, supporting governance, innovation and continuous enhancement of patient care and experience.

Location

Icon UK are proud to be opening a Cancer Centre in Newport, South Wales. The facility is custom-built and will provide state of the art oncology services to our patients. The centre will offer the following services:

  • Radiotherapy
  • Chemotherapy
  • Diagnostic Services

The centre is based just outside of Newport, with convenient access from the M4.
