The IPF team is looking for an experienced Payments Business Analyst to work with the IPF Product Owner, Architects, Engineers, Agile Delivery Leads, Project Managers, and our clients to determine requirements, agree designs, and lead agile delivery teams to deliver simple solutions to complex business challenges.
The Icon Payments Framework (IPF) provides institutions with faster and more cost-effective access to payment solutions through an advanced and highly flexible payments-specific platform which seamlessly integrates with our clients’ core and back-office banking applications.
About you
The successful candidate will have demonstrable payments knowledge of multiple payment schemes and a strong background in business analysis within banks or other financial institutions. We are looking for self-starters who will readily take ownership and lead successful product delivery in an Agile environment. Additionally, you should possess the following:
- Excellent analytical skills and a passion for detail – must demonstrate the ability to logically divide a problem, identify and resolve contradictions and ambiguities
- Extensive experience in creating and elaborating epics & user stories using industry best practices
- Demonstrable experience with multiple Payment Schemes, such as SCT Inst, SEPA, FPS, RTGS, etc.
- In-depth understanding of ISO20022 payment messages, schemas, and the usage of specific fields within those messages
- Experience working in a Kanban or Scrum software development environment, focusing on delivering business value
- Ability to manage & prioritize backlogs of work for delivery squads
- Ability to identify and manage dependencies between work items to avoid blockers and conflicts
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly with engineers, architects, and clients at various levels
- Proven track record of working in Agile delivery environments
- Experience with UML diagrams, including Sequence Diagrams and State Diagrams, using a modelling tool or similar
- Proficiency in Spanish is highly desirable, coupled with the ability to travel across the UK and Europe, depending on project requirements.

- Requirements gathering, analysis, elaboration & refinement – for internal or client-facing delivery projects
- Working with architects and stakeholders to agree on solution/feature designs
- Documenting requirements in detailed user stories reflecting the design and achieving our definition of ready
- Running kick-off sessions with delivery teams to discuss requirements and design, ensuring understanding of the overall goal before starting a project
- Maintaining and prioritizing the backlog to deliver maximum business value
- Performing sign-off for all user stories
- Ensuring adherence to our ways of working
- Ensuring delivered functionality is documented, production-ready, tested, and fit for purpose
- Running client or internal demos of functionality as necessary
- Identifying and reporting risks and issues, taking steps to resolve or escalate them
- Raising suggestions for new product functionalities to the Product Owner where appropriate
- Attending all agile ceremonies
