We build and operate automated factories for composite materials, delivering components to Tier 1 and OEMs.
The business has three main divisions that focus on the development of automated production machines, development of software design and production tools and lastly the operation of the factory. Now working with more than 25 customers (multiple leading OEMs) and earlier this year we completed the largest ever Series A in composites manufacturing to fuel a significant scale‑up with growth plans that will see the business multiply in size over the next 2–3 years and expand operations into Europe and the US. The business currently has facilities in Gloucester UK (Factory 1), Bristol UK (Hardware R&D Centre) and in Athens GR (Software R&D Centre). As we scale and grow, we’re looking for talented individuals to help us continue driving this transformation.

As iCOMAT expands its footprint across Europe, we are seeking an experienced and autonomous Sales Director to drive commercial growth across aerospace and defence sectors. This role will focus on identifying new opportunities, growing strategic relationships, and shaping regional market entry plans. The successful candidate will also oversee outsourced manufacturing partnerships—leveraging existing UK capacity and helping shape the setup of our future European production site.
What will you be doing?
- Develop and execute sales strategies targeting European aerospace and defence sectors
- Manage full sales cycle—from lead generation and qualification through bidding and closing
- Establish partnerships with OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and technical buyers
- Collaborate with UK and global engineering teams to scope and quote complex composite solutions
- Shape outsourced manufacturing partnerships across UK and European production hubs
- Report sales metrics, client feedback, and competitive insights to UK leadership
What do we need from you?
- 5+ years in aerospace, defence, or advanced materials sales across Europe
- Proven track record of winning business with European primes or leading OEMs
- Knowledge of European industrial clusters and supplier networks
- Proximity to aerospace hubs such as Toulouse, Munich, or Bristol
- Strong understanding of composites is highly desirable
