Join ICOMAT – Revolutionising the Future of Lightweight Manufacturing! iCOMAT is an advanced manufacturing company that invented Rapid Tow Shearing (RTS) - the only proven technology for producing defect‑free curved‑fiber composite parts at industrial scale. We deliver the lightest structures possible for aerospace, automotive, defense, and space, at a rate and cost efficiency that far exceeds existing composite production processes.

We build and operate automated factories for composite materials, delivering components to Tier 1 suppliers and OEMs. The business has three main divisions: development of automated production machines, development of software design and production tools, and operation of the factory. We work with 25+ customers and completed the largest ever Series A in composites manufacturing to fuel a significant scale‑up, with growth plans that will see the business multiply in size over the next two to three years and expand operations into the UK, Europe and the US.

The business has currently more than 130,000 sqm of production capacity with manufacturing facilities in the UK (Gloucester and Swindon) and the US (Dayton, Ohio); a Hardware R&D Centre in Bristol, UK; and a Software R&D Centre in Athens, Greece.

We are looking for a qualified and experienced electrician to join our team on a permanent basis, covering our Swindon, Gloucester, and Bristol sites. Based primarily at Swindon, you will be responsible for all electrical maintenance, repairs, and small installation projects across the portfolio. This is a hands‑on role where you will work independently, diagnosing faults, carrying out repairs, and ensuring our facilities remain safe, compliant, and fully operational. You will play a key role in reducing reliance on external contractors, while working alongside our facilities and engineering teams.

What will you be doing?

  • Carry out both planned preventative and reactive electrical maintenance across multiple sites, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Diagnose electrical faults and undertake timely repairs on single‑phase and three‑phase systems to maintain reliability and safety.
  • Conduct inspection, testing, and certification of electrical installations, ensuring full compliance with current regulations and best practice.
  • Perform routine maintenance and basic fault‑finding on fire alarm and security systems, escalating issues where specialist support is required.
  • Provide electrical support for the maintenance and upkeep of site equipment, including chiller units, extraction systems, and process sensor faults.
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with current BS 7671 (18th Edition) standards and internal compliance procedures.
  • Plan, manage and prioritise workload effectively across multiple locations, responding to both scheduled tasks and urgent issues raised through online ticketing system.
  • Work closely with iCOMAT Engineering to support automated cell builds, commissioning activities, and ongoing continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Liaise and coordinate with facilities management and technician/handyman to ensure efficient delivery of maintenance activities across all sites.

What do we need from you?

  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent).
  • ECS Gold Card (JIB registered).
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).
  • City & Guilds 2391 (Inspection and Testing).
  • Experience working under a Competent Person Scheme (e.g. NICEIC, NAPIT).
  • Proven experience in commercial or industrial maintenance.
  • Able to work autonomously and manage your own schedule.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Our Values:

  • Uncompromising Excellence: Discipline over excuses. We commit. We follow through. We hold ourselves and each other to the highest standard, especially when the pressure is on.
  • Push the edge: iCOMAT was built on a refusal to accept that curved fiber could not be manufactured at scale. We innovate where others hesitate.
  • Aligned and accountable: Everyone owns their lane, communicates openly, and delivers without being chased. No silos. No ambiguity.

Why iCOMAT?

  • Competitive Salary & Benefits: We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including private healthcare, pension scheme.
