We are seeking a Facilities & CST Supervisor to play a key role in ensuring our Leeds campus remains safe, compliant, and consistently high‑performing. This role supports the Campus Manager and wider Estates & Facilities team, overseeing day‑to‑day building operations while leading a team of Campus Support Technicians (CSTs) and Facilities Assistants.
About the Role
As the Facilities & CST Supervisor, you will be responsible for the smooth running of campus facilities, ensuring all Health & Safety, compliance, maintenance and service obligations are met. You will support daily operations including:
- Facilities & Compliance
- Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety regulations (including fire safety, first aid, incident reporting, and statutory checks).
- Overseeing planned and reactive maintenance, ensuring issues are dealt with promptly and safely.
- Managing external contractors such as cleaning, security, waste and maintenance providers.
- Conducting regular inspections, drills, and compliance audits.
- Managing campus opening/closing procedures and ensuring appropriate staffing throughout operating hours.
- Resource & Equipment Planning
- Managing and maintaining the campus asset register and supporting annual stocktakes.
- Overseeing equipment storage, upkeep and CST‑managed gear.
- Maintaining stock levels for consumables, cleaning materials, supplies, shop stock and vending.
- Supporting the Campus Manager in budget control and project delivery.
- Front‑Line Operational Support
- Supervising and coordinating CSTs and Facilities staff, ensuring efficient deployment.
- Compiling staff rotas to meet operational and academic needs.
- Supporting student inductions, open days and supervised sessions.
- Providing front‑line technical support and coordinating minor IT tasks.
- Ensuring teaching spaces, studios and event spaces are prepared and fully functional.
- Working collaboratively with academic, technical and student services teams.
- People Management
- Line managing CSTs and Facilities Assistants, ensuring high performance and clear expectations.
- Promoting a positive, customer‑focused team culture.
- Maintaining accurate staff records, hours worked and supporting payroll processes.
- Administrative Responsibilities
- Managing rotas and database updates.
- Handling purchasing for facilities-related supplies.
- Supporting monthly campus finance reconciliation.
About You
We’re looking for someone who is dynamic, flexible, and committed to delivering high‑quality student and staff experiences. You will bring:
- Experience
- Experience supervising facilities or front‑line operational teams.
- Experience in multi‑use environments (HE, FE, creative or corporate settings is an advantage).
- Knowledge or experience of creative, musical or technical environments (essential).
- Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational discipline and ability to manage competing priorities.
- Ability to motivate and support junior team members.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach to problem‑solving.
- Confidence in liaising with stakeholders at all levels.
- An understanding of facilities or building services (desirable).
- Qualifications
- NEBOSH/IOSH is desirable (or willingness to work towards).
