Our client is a well-established leader in the field of gas detection technology, delivering high-performance fixed and portable systems to industrial and research clients across the UK and internationally. As the business continues to grow, they are now looking to appoint a talentedGas Detection Instrumentation Engineer / Service Engineer Commercial Gasto support their expanding operations.
The Role
This is a hands-on, technically focused position ideal for someone with a background in instrumentation, electronics, or commercial gas detection. Youll play a key role in theinstallation, servicing, and calibrationof specialist gas detection systems. While full training will be provided, prior relevant experience would be highly advantageous.
Based primarily at the company\’s site, the role may also involve client visits and occasional overnight stays.
Key Responsibilities as an Gas Detection Instrumentation Engineer / Service Engineer Commercial Gas:
- Installation, servicing, and calibration of gas detection equipment
- Diagnosing faults and performing minor repairs, including basic wiring and soldering
- Reading and interpreting technical documentation and manuals
- Producing accurate service reports, calibration certificates, and records
- Liaising with customers, suppliers, and colleagues in a professional manner
What We Are Looking for in anGas Detection Instrumentation Engineer / Service Engineer Commercial Gas:-
Our client is seeking aself-motivated and detail-oriented Instrumentation engineerwith a strong mix of practical and technical skills. The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- A degree, HND, or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant IT systems
- Strong time management and organisational skills
- Practical experience with hand and power tools
- A flexible and adaptable mindset
- As anInstrumentation Engineer you must have a full UK driving licence and a valid passport
Desirable Experienceas anGas Detection Instrumentation Engineer / Service Engineer Commercial Gas:
- Experience in commercial gas detection or a related industry
- Field-based or customer-facing engineering background
- Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 quality systems
- CompEx qualification in a relevant area
