We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our team. In this role, you will carry out mechanical maintenance, repairs, installation, and inspection of equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation. You will play a key part in maintaining plant efficiency, minimising downtime, and supporting continuous improvement across our mechanical systems.
The Responsibilities
- Perform planned preventative maintenance, reactive maintenance, and breakdown repairs on mechanical equipment.
- Install, assemble, align, and test mechanical components, machinery, and systems.
- Diagnose mechanical faults and implement effective corrective actions.
- Conduct inspections and routine checks to ensure equipment is operating safely and efficiently.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and engineering specifications.
- Use appropriate hand tools, power tools, and workshop equipment safely and effectively.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, documentation, and service reports.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to system reliability enhancements.
- Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and other maintenance personnel to resolve technical issues.
The Requirements
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter, Maintenance Technician or equivalent in an industrial, engineering, or manufacturing environment.
- Risk Assessment Trained and IOSH Working Safely certified.
- Skilled in fault-finding, problem solving, and diagnosing mechanical issues.
- Understanding of health & safety regulations and safe working practices.
- Good communication skills and a proactive, hands‑on approach.
