This role is in the firm's Partner HR team and supports partners on all HR related matters. The HR Manager provides a high level, seamless HR service to our 250 global partners and supports the Senior HR Manager in coordinating projects aligned with the firm’s strategy. The role works with key stakeholder groups including the Global Leadership Team (GLT), the Review Panel, the Supervisory Council, and the Global People team, including the lateral partner recruitment team.

Responsibilities

  • Onboarding and integration: manage the smooth onboarding and integration of lateral partners globally, working with key stakeholders and the lateral partner recruitment team. This includes:
  • Leading the implementation of induction and integration plans and ensuring onboarding arrangements and regulatory requirements are satisfied globally;
  • Driving forward the successful integration of partners with key stakeholders in the firm;
  • Managing the Partner HR Executive Assistant as a key contact for partner candidates and internal stakeholders.
  • Partner HR support and annual partner processes: lead on implementing changes to partner terms and support the life cycle of partners (e.g., sickness, sabbaticals, maternity/family leave, secondments, transfers, consultancy arrangements and departures);
  • Oversee updating the partner intranet site and manage all Partner HR filing, trackers, documents and the SRA;
  • Coordinate partner procedures such as the annual partner promotion process and support the Senior HR Manager to implement improvements, supervising the Partner HR Executive Assistant;
  • Support the implementation and analysis of the Partner engagement survey;
  • Provide support on partner performance management;
  • Lead the coordination of the annual partner appraisal process and act as a key contact for partners and GLT members;
  • Support the Senior HR Manager and CPO with the annual partner moderation and remuneration review process;
  • Assist in other projects across the broader Global People team;
  • Support the firm’s growth in alignment with the firm’s strategy.
  • Relationships, Continuous Improvement and Reporting: line management responsibility for the Partner HR Executive Assistant; upskill the Assistant through delegation; share knowledge with the Global People team; build and maintain strong relationships across the firm (Global People team, Risk and Compliance, Accounts, Business Development and the GLT); act as a key point of contact for Partner HR queries and work effectively as a team with the Partner HR Executive Assistant; engender trust and confidence in relationships; deliver excellent client service in collaboration with the Partner HR team and model good practice; lead on creating, maintaining and updating know-how with step-by-step guidance on best practice and key partner processes; identify and lead improvements to streamline processes and improve time efficiency and client service delivery; support the Senior HR Manager with analysis of partner data and reports; deputise for the Senior HR Manager when needed.
  • Qualifications and Requirements

    • Previous experience in a senior HR or business partner role within professional services or a law firm is essential.
    • Experience in partner HR matters or processes is beneficial.
    • A service-oriented, commercially focused approach.
    • Strong organisational and project management skills with excellent attention to detail.
    • Strong communication and presentation skills.
    • Resilient and pragmatic, with the ability to respond quickly to requests, manage time and stakeholders effectively, and stay calm under pressure.
    • Highly credible with the ability to build strong relationships.
    • Results-focused with a positive, can-do attitude.
    • Experience in identifying and delivering process and service improvements.
    • Effective line management experience.
    • Analytical ability to create and interpret data.
    • In-depth knowledge of current HR trends and up-to-date legislation.
