ICI Services—a 100% employee‑owned company proudly celebrating 26 years of excellence—is seeking a Mid‑Level Engineering Technician to immediately support our Surface Maintenance Engineering Planning Program (SURFMEPP) Team at the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) in Portsmouth, VA.

Security Clearance

Applicant must hold or be able to obtain an active Department of Defense (DoD) SECRET personnel security clearance.

Summary

The CMP Manager will maintain individual surface ship maintenance requirements for Combat and Electrical Systems within the Enterprise Class Maintenance (eCMP) database. These CMP requirements are used to direct shipboard maintenance and assessment programs. At times the CMP Manager may interface with other Navy commands such as the Technical Warrants, Regional Maintenance Centers, or Type Commanders when developing or improving CMP requirements.

Specific Duties Include

  • Collects and analyzes material condition, repair and other maintenance related data to devise solutions and actions to resolve issues, conditions and problems and develop and maintain the Class Maintenance Plan (CMP).
  • Communicates findings through discussions and presentations concerning the analyzed data.
  • Interprets policy and regulatory requirements when developing new or modifying existing maintenance requirements to meet changing requirements and makes recommendations for improvement to meet program objectives.
  • Presents oral briefings and develops written reports, presentations and emails to summarise findings.
  • Participates in special projects in support of emergent requirements and major initiatives.

Minimum Requirements

  • Greater than 4 years relevant professional experience in program support of a DoD/Navy Programs utilizing Navy Logistics experience.
  • Ability to follow direction and work within a team.
  • Familiarity with Navy Surface Ship C4I and Electrical Systems.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Programs, specifically Access, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience creating presentations used to inform the Leadership Team.
  • Problem‑solving, analytical, mathematical, and organisational skills.

Preferred Requirements

  • 4‑7 relevant professional experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with planning, execution or management of US Navy Ship maintenance.
  • Familiarity with Navy Maintenance and logistics Database (MBPS, NMD, VSB, OMMS‑NG, 3‑M‑OARS).
  • Experience with collating, analyzing and presenting spreadsheet data.
  • Good communication and briefing skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.
  • Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery.
  • Frequently communicates with co‑workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.
  • Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
