This is an exciting opportunity to join a high performing legal team and collaborate with stakeholders globally across different business areas. You will develop your technical legal skills while also gaining a well-rounded commercial understanding of the processes and strategies that contribute to the success of a fast-paced, growing business like ICG. You will use great communication skills, initiative and proactivity to drive forward our legal and business objectives and become a trusted adviser at ICG.

ICG is searching for an energetic team player to join the ICG group legal team as a junior legal counsel. The legal counsel will work closely with the growing in-house group legal team on a broad range of corporate and commercial matters across the business. We are looking for someone who enjoys a challenge and will be keen to build an internal network. The role will be based in ICG’s London office, but flexible working arrangements are in place.

Primary Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Draft documents for, review and manage a wide range of corporate matters (e.g. reorganisations, share/asset transfers, funding)
  • Draft, review and negotiate a wide variety of commercial contracts, including terms and conditions and supply contracts
  • Develop and maintain ICG standard approach and clauses
  • Agree, draft and/or review intra-group arrangements
  • Assess the regulatory framework applicable to the group, including assisting with anti-trust matters
  • Acting as legal point person for projects across the group, including advising the business with expansion into new markets globally and assessing legal and commercial risk
  • Assistance with ESG legal matters (an appetite to learn, rather than prior expertise in this area is fine)
  • Potential to assist deal-side
Key Requirements/Qualifications

You will have demonstrable experience of:

  • Private practice trained, with 1 – 4 years of post qualification experience
  • Excellent technical legal skills including high attention to detail
  • Experience of drafting, reviewing and negotiating a range of commercial contracts
  • Experience of corporate, commercial and/or funds law
  • Strong academics
  • Ability to work individually and within a team
  • Previous in-house experience helpful, but not a pre-requisite
