This is an exciting time to join the ICG Risk team. The role provides multiple opportunities to make a tangible impact on the Group’s risk management function as we expand the risk offering and support ICG’s ambitious growth.

The Risk Function team consists of 8 professionals, based in London, Luxembourg and Poland. The Control Functions (Risk, Compliance and Internal Audit) team consist of 25+ employees, based out of London, US, Luxembourg and Poland. In addition to the permanent team, various external providers are used to supplement the delivery, such as compliance monitoring, internal audit and general risk, legal and regulatory advice.
Reporting directly to the London based Principal, this role will primarily support with risk and control self-assessments and incident management across a number of functions and strategies. In doing so, the role will support the implementation of the risk management standards across the firm and work to ensure the function aligns to industry and regulatory expectations. The position will also be involved in the fund risk management process managed by the Risk Function.
In addition, the position will require close collaboration with the other control functions towards a consistent framework in line with ICG group processes whilst adhering to the regulatory standards applicable. The role requires a combination of intellectual breadth and agility, the ability to work under different performance, accounting and regulatory reporting frameworks, to coordinate with various internal departments and external service providers, with a problem-solving mindset, good communication and partnering skills. The successful candidate will have the ability to work with the team based in London, Luxembourg and Poland and with the business operations, providing appropriate support, whilst forming close and constructive relationships internally and externally.
Primary responsibilities for this role include (but are not limited to):
- Assisting with the development and maintenance of the risk and control self-assessment (RCSA) process
- Supporting the operational incident process, ensuring events are recorded, reviewed, and appropriately investigated to resolution.
- Analysing the current controls environment and assessing the design and effectiveness of the current controls; and the ability of the business to effectively evidence these controls.
- Supporting the business functions to pro-actively identify control gaps and provide independent assurance of action plans designed to mitigate or close these gaps.
- Support the fund risk management process, ensuring pre-deal and periodical risk controls and monitoring are completed and recorded
- Supporting the provision of periodic and timely risk reports to senior management and the Risk Committees.
- Work with Internal and External Audit on risk related topics.
- Carrying out risk related thematic reviews and process enhancements.
- Work with fund external delegates or service providers (administrators, depositaries etc) on risk related topics.
Key Requirements / Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant subject with post-graduate qualifications that are relevant to the role
- Experience in working in the asset management industry
- Previous exposure to the private equity and/or private debt fund sector would be an advantage
- Essential Educational background in either Risk Management, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration.
- Proficiency in MS Office, with a strong emphasis on Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Trustworthy and respected
- Desirable Ability to work autonomously and to manage priorities within a short timeframe
- Exposure to regulated environment in previous roles would be an asset
- Collaborative approach to delivery and results oriented
