ICF is a leading provider of science‑based climate, environmental and energy advisory services. We are looking for a Consultant to join our Sustainable Finance, Climate and Biodiversity Policy practice in Brussels, Spain or London. The role supports a diverse policy work stream and involves flagship projects such as the Innovation Fund and climate diplomacy studies for the European Commission and other public and private clients.

Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of projects for public and private clients.
  • Deploy discrete tasks and activities as required.
  • Provide robust qualitative and quantitative analysis and translate complex data into meaningful recommendations.
  • Engage stakeholders through quantitative and qualitative surveys.
  • Support ICF’s thought leadership in climate policy, identify emerging trends and opportunities, and help translate these into new service offers.

Required qualifications & skills

  • Fluency in spoken English and excellent writing skills.
  • Master’s degree in climate or environmental sciences, environmental economics, environmental engineering, political science, or a related discipline.
  • Professional working experience of 2‑4 years in climate policy at EU level, with excellent understanding of recent policy developments (e.g. Net Zero Industry Act, Climate Law, EU ETS).
  • Strong qualitative and quantitative analysis capability, including advanced knowledge of Excel and equivalent tools.
  • Proven communication and stakeholder engagement skills, especially within public authorities and the business and finance community.
  • Ability to work independently as well as within multicultural, multidisciplinary consulting teams across several countries and time zones.

Preferred qualifications & skills

  • Fluency in a second EU language.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset eager to innovate and develop solutions for the climate and environmental crises.

Location & Sponsorship (UK)
