Job Purpose
As the Residential Supervisor, you will be part of the Artic Residential team providing supervisory services to the Artic student accommodation team. You will be overseeing a dedicated team of 9 Fab techs, 2 plumbers, 2 electricians, and 3 painters. We are driven by innovation, collaboration, and excellence. Day to day responsibilities
- Oversee day‑to‑day operations, ensuring your team meets and exceeds company standards for performance and productivity.
- Lead, mentor, and motivate team members to achieve their goals and perform to the best of their abilities.
- Conduct regular team meetings to communicate objectives, share updates, and foster a collaborative environment.
- Provide ongoing coaching and professional development opportunities to support career growth within the organization.
- Monitor daily workflows, assigning tasks and managing resources to meet operational deadlines.
- Evaluate team performance metrics, ensuring quality and efficiency are maintained.
- Address operational challenges promptly by identifying bottlenecks and implementing effective solutions.
- Ensure all team members adhere to company policies, industry regulations, and safety guidelines.
- Conduct routine inspections to confirm compliance with internal and external standards.
- Document and report any incidents or deviations from protocol to senior management.
- Act as the first point of contact for resolving team or client‑related issues, ensuring timely and satisfactory resolutions.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure cross‑functional alignment and smooth operations.
- Track and analyse team performance data, creating detailed reports for management.
- Recommend process improvements based on data insights and team feedback.
Knowledge
- Experience in a supervisory or leadership role, preferably in the building services field.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Proficiency in inventory management tools.
- Achieve team productivity and performance benchmarks consistently.
- Maintain a 95% or higher adherence rate to compliance and safety standards.
- Demonstrate effective conflict resolution skills, maintaining a harmonious work environment.
Experience
A minimum of 3 years commercial electrical experience, in establishments such as hospitals, schools, residential buildings, universities, offices. Sound understanding and experience of meeting health and safety obligations regarding maintenance activities.
Qualifications
You must have a proven track record within the industry with a good steady work record. Proof of any trade training/course (NVQ/C&G) IPAF 3a/3b ticket (ideal but not essential).
Education
A good basic education is essential, with good written and spoken English.

- Must be able to pass an enhanced DBS check.

Health and Safety
- Always follow Artic company policies and procedures.
- Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that may result in failure of service delivery or risk to health and safety or the environment.
- Use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training received.
- Report any issues or training needs to your Line manager and/or via your divisional incident reporting system.
