As one of the UK's Best Big Companies to Work For, our success is powered by great people. We're now looking for a technically-minded, data-driven Business Analyst to join our growing team and play a key role in shaping the future of our systems, products and customer experience.

This isn't your typical requirements-gathering BA role.

We're looking for someone who loves getting under the hood of systems, exploring data, and working closely with both business stakeholders and technical teams to solve real problems. If you're equally comfortable discussing business priorities with senior stakeholders and validating data with developers, this could be the perfect next step for you.

What you'll be doing

Business Analysis & Change

  • Gather, analyse and document business requirements across a range of exciting projects.
  • Partner with Architecture, Development, Product and Testing teams to design effective solutions.
  • Translate complex business challenges into clear system and data requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency and customer outcomes through smarter use of technology and data.

Technical & Data Responsibilities

  • Use SQL (or similar tools) to interrogate, analyse and validate data.
  • Create Power BI reports and data insights that support decision-making.
  • Develop a strong understanding of data models, schemas and system relationships.
  • Contribute to conversations around APIs, integrations and data contracts.
  • Work closely with technical teams to understand system architecture and data flows.
  • Validate system outputs against source data and business rules to ensure quality and accuracy.

Project Delivery & Support

  • Support the successful delivery of key business and technology projects from concept through to implementation.
  • Produce high-quality documentation including user stories, acceptance criteria and data requirements.
  • Assist with testing activities, including functional testing and data validation.
  • Help maintain and continuously improve existing systems while supporting the wider squad in meeting business objectives and SLAs.

What we're looking for

Technical & Data Skills

  • Experience writing and interpreting SQL, with the confidence to analyse and validate complex datasets.
  • Exposure to Power BI or similar reporting and visualisation tools.
  • Understanding of APIs, data contracts, system integrations and database structures.
  • Awareness of core technology concepts including data flows, system architecture and front-end versus back-end functionality.

Business Analysis & Delivery Skills

  • Proven experience working in Agile environments.
  • Skilled in writing user stories, refining requirements and managing backlogs.
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps or similar delivery tools.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to build credibility with both business stakeholders and technical teams.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation and stakeholder management skills.

You’ll thrive in this role if you…

  • Love digging into data to uncover how a business really works.
  • Enjoy understanding systems end-to-end, not just gathering requirements.
  • Can confidently bridge the gap between business and technology.
  • Are naturally curious, proactive and comfortable challenging the status quo.
  • Get excited by improving processes, systems and user experiences.

Why join us?

  • 15% discount in Iceland stores
  • 30% discount at Club Individual Restaurants
  • 33 days holiday (including bank holidays)
  • Free onsite parking
  • Electric vehicle charging facilities
  • Subsidised staff restaurant and Costa Coffee
  • Christmas vouchers
  • Refer a Friend scheme
  • Christmas Savings scheme
  • Discounted dry cleaning
  • Long service awards

If you're a Business Analyst who enjoys getting hands-on with data, understands technology, and wants to make a real impact, we'd love to hear from you.
