We understand that success is achieved through our people, and we are searching for an experienced and visionary Cyber Security Architect to join our Cyber Security team. The successful candidate will report to the Head of Cyber Security and will lead the Security Engineering function, which covers Identity and Access Management, Cloud Security, Threat Modelling, and Application Security. This is a senior role that will shape Iceland's security architecture and ensure that security is embedded in all changes and projects across the organisation. The Cyber Security Architect will work closely with IT and business stakeholders to design secure solutions, influence strategic decisions, and foster a culture of security by design. This role is based in our Deeside head office, with a minimum of 2 days per week spent working from here.
Specific skills and capabilities we are looking for:
- Essential
- Proven experience in designing and implementing security architectures for enterprise environments.
- Strong knowledge of identity and access management principles and technologies.
- Experience of working within a predominantly Microsoft environment.
- Expertise in cloud security (Microsoft Azure; AWS experience desirable).
- Ability to perform threat modelling and provide secure design guidance for projects and applications.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to influence and embed security practices across diverse teams and projects.
- Experience in managing and mentoring technical security professionals.
- Familiarity with secure development practices and application security frameworks (e.g. OWASP).
- Experience with using Akamai.
- Knowledge of Zero Trust architecture principles.
- Certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, or SABSA.
Additional Responsibilities
- Drive security architecture reviews for all major projects and initiatives.
- Define and maintain security reference architectures and design patterns.
- Lead evaluations of new security technologies and develop strategic roadmaps.
- Ensure alignment of security architecture with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Promote a culture of security by design across all IT and business change activities.
