As Duty Manager you will work as a Retail Assistant and receive a £2 per hour supplement for the time that you manage shifts.
Key responsibilities include:
- Maximise profit: Have a clear focus on delivering great availability for your customers. Play an active role in your store to “sell a £1 & save a £1” to help drive sales. Deliver on all agreed actions set for you by your line manager.
- Engage, develop & retain great people: Proactively support and work with the Talking Shop Rep in your store. Support team engagement in your store. Play a part in creating an inclusive culture where everyone can be their best. Take a proactive approach to personal development and share your own knowledge to support up-skilling the team.
- Doing the right processes and doing them right: Complete any actions set for you by your line manager on the back of the daily floor walk focusing on what the customer sees. A positive approach to service, both in store and at the doorstep always aiming to be the best place to shop. Follow and implement all cash handling and security policies & processes. Play your part in providing the best digital service through implementing all “One Best Way” processes.
- Leadership: Your leadership approach should be at the heart of everything you do, to get the best from your team to give the best to our customers: Love your customers by being approachable. Look after our own by being respectful. Work together by being enthusiastic. Hate waste by taking action. Care about the business and our people by being considerate.
Required skills & experience:
- Experience in a retail management or supervisory role ideal but not essential.
- Communicates effectively with every colleague to deliver store tasks first time, every time.
- Plans and organises the shift, using every member of the team.
- Provides balanced feedback when needed to improve the performance of every colleague.
- Sets the pace of the team, when on shift, by being hands on to deliver a great store.
