Here at Iceland, we’re different. We care. We’re not a dull, stuffy corporate — we’re one big team. A diverse group of people who get stuck in, work hard together, and make great things happen. We’re now looking for a Management Accountant to join our Retail Finance team and play a key role in supporting our operational performance.
About the Role
As a Management Accountant, you’ll be central to ensuring financial clarity and control across our retail operations. You will partner with store and head office teams, providing the insights they need to make confident, data‑driven decisions.
What you’ll be doing:
- Preparing periodic management accounts with insightful variance analysis for Finance Managers and operational teams.
- Producing accurate Balance Sheet reconciliations.
- Supporting robust forecasts and budgets across retail store costs and head office functions.
- Creating and maintaining weekly reporting suites that help drive decision-making across the business.
- Delivering analysis that explains cost variances and highlights opportunities to improve performance (at both a top down group level and a bottom up store level).
- Challenging, supporting, and partnering with teams to ensure financial accountability.
- Supporting the wider finance team with ad‑hoc projects and analysis as required.
About You
We’re looking for someone who is analytical, curious, and commercially minded — someone who loves diving into numbers but can also see the bigger picture. You will bring:
- Accountability for your work, paired with an inquisitive mindset.
- Strong commercial awareness and the confidence to add value through insight.
- Part‑qualified accountant status (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) — desirable, not essential.
- A passion for improving processes and ways of working.
- Advanced Excel skills (essential).
- Experience with SQL / Azure (preferable).
- Experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 (advantageous).
Why Join Iceland?
You’ll be part of a supportive, people‑focused organisation where you can grow, learn, and make a real impact. We care about our colleagues, and you’ll feel that from day one.
Ready to Apply?
If you’re excited to bring financial insight to a fast‑paced, friendly, and forward‑thinking retailer, we’d love to hear from you. Apply now and be part of something special. Make a difference to your career, we expect a lot but you’ll get a lot back in return. We will help you grow and develop your career and give you the freedom to show that you really care.
