As Duty Manager you will work as a Retail Assistant and receive a £2 per hour supplement for the time that you manage shifts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maximise profit: focus on delivering great availability for customers, and support “sell a £1 & save a £1” to help drive sales.
  • Deliver on all agreed actions set by your line manager.
  • Engage, develop and retain great people: proactively support and work with the Talking Shop Rep in your store, support team engagement, and play a part in creating an inclusive culture where everyone can be their best.
  • Take a proactive approach to personal development and share your own knowledge to support up-skilling the team.
  • Complete actions set by your line manager after the daily floor walk, focusing on what the customer sees.
  • Maintain a positive approach to service, both in store and at the doorstep, always aiming to be the best place to shop.
  • Follow and implement all cash handling and security policies and processes.
  • Implement all “One Best Way” digital service processes.
  • Display leadership that brings out the best in the team: be approachable, respectful, enthusiastic, waste-averse, considerate of the business and people.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Experience in a retail management or supervisory role is ideal but not essential.
  • Communicates effectively with every colleague to deliver store tasks first time, every time.
  • Plans and organises the shift, using every member of the team.
  • Provides balanced feedback to improve the performance of every colleague.
  • Sets the pace of the team during shifts by being hands-on to deliver a great store.
