New store opening. As one of the Best Big Companies to Work For, we have a rich history of loving our customers and looking after our teams. We understand that success is achieved through our people, and we are searching for a committed and passionate Shift Manager to join our growing business.
As Shift Manager you will support the management team to deliver consistent results and be the best place to shop and work. You will be recruited as a Retail Assistant and receive a £2 supplement for every hour that you shift manage the store.
- Maximise profit: Have a clear focus on delivering great availability for your customers. Play an active role in your store to ‘sell a £1 & save a £1’ to help drive sales. Deliver on all agreed actions set for you by your line manager.
- Engage, develop & retain great people: Proactively support and work with the Talking Shop Rep in your store. Support team engagement in your store. Play a part in creating an inclusive culture where everyone can be their best. Take a proactive approach to personal development and share your own knowledge to support up‑skilling the team.
- Doing the right processes and doing them right: Complete any actions set for you by your line manager on the back of the daily floor walk focusing on what the customer sees. A positive approach to service, both in store and at the doorstep always aiming to be the best place to shop. Follow and implement all cash handling and security policies & processes. Play your part in providing the best digital service through implementing all “One Best Way” processes.
- Leadership: Love your customers by being approachable. Look after our own by being respectful. Work together by being enthusiastic. Hate waste by taking action. Care about the business and our people by being considerate.
Required skills & experience: Proven experience in a retail management or supervisory role. Communicates effectively with every colleague to deliver store tasks first time, every time. Plans and organises the shift, using every member of the team. Provides balanced feedback when needed to improve the performance of every colleague. Sets the pace of the team, when on shift, by being hands on to deliver a great store.
