About the Team

The Software Engineering team is a well-established and highly respected function within Iceland, responsible for delivering solutions across all areas of the business.

Our AI Squad focuses exclusively on developing enterprise-grade AI and machine learning capabilities.

The team has grown significantly in recent years, and we now operate in agile squads, each owning its own workstream and partnering closely with business stakeholders.

• What You'll Be Doing
• Building AI-powered solutions that solve real business challenges and deliver measurable value.
• Developing intelligent automations using the latest Microsoft AI technologies, including AI Foundry, Agent Framework and Microsoft IQ.
• Designing and implementing multi-agent workflows, including human-in-the-loop patterns and agentic orchestration.
• Creating robust RAG solutions using vector databases, Foundry IQ and agentic retrieval techniques.
• Developing predictive machine learning models with Azure Machine Learning to support forecasting, operational performance and decision-making.
• Ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, observable and aligned with responsible AI principles.
• Collaborating with business stakeholders, analysts and engineering teams to identify opportunities where AI can make the biggest impact.
• Contributing to architectural decisions, technical design discussions and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Researching emerging AI technologies and helping shape the future direction of our AI capability.
• You should apply if
• You have hands‑on experience building and delivering production‑ready AI, automation or machine learning solutions that create measurable business value.
• You are comfortable building enterprise‑grade solutions in the cloud, with an emphasis on security, scalability, resilience and maintainability.
• You bring strong software engineering fundamentals, including experience with Dev Ops practices, CI/CD pipelines, source control, automated testing and delivering maintainable code into production environments.
• You are experienced in developing pro‑code AI solutions using technologies such as Microsoft AI Foundry, Agent Framework, vector search and RAG‑based approaches.
• You understand and have experience with implementing responsible AI, quality evaluations, observability and human‑in‑the‑loop patterns when deploying AI into real business processes.
• You can work closely with business stakeholders, analysts and engineering teams to identify where AI can be applied effectively, then design, build and prove the value delivered.
• You are curious, pragmatic and willing to research new tools and techniques, while challenging the status quo in a constructive way.
• You care about technical excellence and want to build solutions that genuinely improve how colleagues and customers experience technology.
