We are supporting a global leader in the defence and aerospace industry looking to hire a Cyber Security Engineer to join their security engineering team. This role is different from other security roles in the market, mainly because of the level of OS knowledge and experience that is required.

What’s required:

  • Linux – a deep understanding of Linux Administration (Redhat) with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues. This includes the ability to manage and support the Atlassian stack including Jira, Confluence and BitBucket.
  • DLP – awareness of DLP solutions (Symantec/Trellix, but any DLP tools experience will be considered).
  • Firewalls – knowledge of enterprise networks and troubleshooting firewalls (Palo Alto), as you will be the security approver on FW rules in the future.
  • Scripting – the ability to setup, configure and automate test environments would be very beneficial (PowerShell/Python).

My client has a team of 3 (and growing) where you will be required onsite once or twice per week in Preston. The base salary goes up to Β£47,000 + bonus and brilliant benefits. If you possess a combination of Linux administration and security skills (ideally DLP), I would encourage you to apply and start a conversation with me.

Please note to be successful and considered for this position you must be able to obtain SC clearance.
