Interim Commercial & Technology Legal Counsel (3–6 Months)

About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Commercial & Technology Lawyer to join the European Legal & Compliance team at a global sports technology leader on an interim basis. Stepping into a high-workload environment, you will take ownership of a broad commercial tech caseload. The team needs a proactive self-starter who can hit the ground running with minimal hand-holding, advising internal business stakeholders across a range of cutting-edge technology and commercial matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Core Commercial Contracts: Draft, review, and negotiate a high volume of commercial agreements, including SaaS, EULAs, software and technology service contracts, procurement, LOIs, NDAs, and intellectual property (IP) agreements.
- Tenders & Proposals: Provide legal support and commercial advice on tender submissions and strategic vendor bids.
- Broader Advisory: Offer pragmatic advice on emerging technology matters, including AI compliance, data use, and general commercial disputes.
- Stakeholder Management: Work closely with cross-functional European teams, translating complex legal risks into clear, actionable business advice.
Requirements
- Experience: Mid to Senior-level Solicitor (typically 4–10+ years PQE) with strong commercial technology experience. In-house or top-tier secondment experience is strongly preferred.
- Qualification: Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales (or equivalent international qualification with extensive UK commercial law experience).
- Expertise: Deep familiarity with technology contracts (SaaS, software licensing, IT procurement, IP) and general commercial transactions. Knowledge of sports tech, media, or AI compliance is a strong plus.
- Working Style: Autonomy, commercial acumen, and the ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
