Job Purpose

The Director, Reference Data Product Management joins a dynamic team focused on driving revenue growth, leading innovative product development, and enhancing existing data assets. We seek a talented and passionate Product Director with a background in reference data, experience leading teams, and building or supporting reference data products.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  1. Lead a team through idea generation, technical development, implementation, and launch of innovative products across asset classes.
  2. Design and implement new business initiatives, including new products.
  3. Define strategies to leverage external data for platform/product growth regionally.
  4. Use data-driven approaches to identify opportunities and contribute to the product roadmap, prioritizing key areas.
  5. Partner with Strategic Delivery to develop and execute product roadmaps.
  6. Formulate business and product strategies with clear direction.
  7. Align with other product and development leaders on roadmaps and delivery.
  8. Support integration and buildout of strategic company acquisitions.
  9. Participate in cross-functional teams to develop business requirements.
  10. Collaborate with market representatives, customers, and partners to create revenue-generating solutions.
  11. Write comprehensive business requirements, understanding all related business areas.
  12. Understand how content is utilized within reference data products and recommend solutions.
  13. Identify and communicate project risks and issues.
  14. Operate effectively in a multi-tasking, deadline-driven environment.
  15. Engage in continuous learning and professional development.

Knowledge and Experience

  1. 8+ years in financial services, with leadership experience preferred.
  2. 3+ years querying/retrieving data from SQL/Oracle/Python databases.
  3. Excellent communication skills to articulate technical ideas to non-technical stakeholders.
  4. Creative problem-solving skills and process challenge ability.
  5. Strong collaboration skills across cross-functional teams.
  6. Ability to develop relationships at all organizational levels.
  7. Detail-oriented with a good understanding of data flow and storage.
  8. Proficient in Excel for data analysis and trend identification.
  9. Knowledge of product enhancements and functional analysis.
  10. Strong documentation and presentation skills.
  11. Experience with development lifecycle, including design, testing, and post-release fixes.
  12. Bachelor’s degree required.
