Job Purpose
The Director, Reference Data Product Management joins a dynamic team focused on driving revenue growth, leading innovative product development, and enhancing existing data assets. We seek a talented and passionate Product Director with a background in reference data, experience leading teams, and building or supporting reference data products.
Job Description Responsibilities
- Lead a team through idea generation, technical development, implementation, and launch of innovative products across asset classes.
- Design and implement new business initiatives, including new products.
- Define strategies to leverage external data for platform/product growth regionally.
- Use data-driven approaches to identify opportunities and contribute to the product roadmap, prioritising key areas.
- Partner with Strategic Delivery to develop and execute product roadmaps.
- Formulate business and product strategies with clear direction.
- Align with other product and development leaders on roadmaps and delivery.
- Support integration and buildout of strategic company acquisitions.
- Participate in cross-functional teams to develop business requirements.
- Collaborate with market representatives, customers, and partners to create revenue-generating solutions.
- Write comprehensive business requirements, understanding all related business areas.
- Understand how content is utilised within reference data products and recommend solutions.
- Identify and communicate project risks and issues.
- Operate effectively in a multi-tasking, deadline-driven environment.
- Engage in continuous learning and professional development.
Knowledge and Experience
- 8+ years in financial services, with leadership experience preferred.
- 3+ years querying/retrieving data from SQL/Oracle/Python databases.
- Excellent communication skills to articulate technical ideas to non-technical stakeholders.
- Creative problem-solving skills and process challenge ability.
- Strong collaboration skills across cross-functional teams.
- Ability to develop relationships at all organisational levels.
- Detail-oriented with a good understanding of data flow and storage.
- Proficient in Excel for data analysis and trend identification.
- Knowledge of product enhancements and functional analysis.
- Strong documentation and presentation skills.
- Experience with development lifecycle, including design, testing, and post-release fixes.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
