The Opportunity
We're looking for an experienced technology sales professional to play a key role in the continued growth of a fast-growing, independent cyber security business.
This is a senior, hands-on commercial position combining new business acquisition, strategic account growth and long-term customer relationship management.
You'll work across both new and existing customers, developing opportunities, building trusted relationships and helping organisations identify where the business can support their wider cybersecurity strategy.
You'll receive opportunities through marketing activity, technology partnerships, events, referrals and the existing customer base, while also taking responsibility for creating and developing your own pipeline.
This role offers significant autonomy and, as the business continues to scale, the opportunity for the right person to progress into a broader sales leadership position.
- What You'll Be Doing
- Create, develop and close new business across mid-market and enterprise organisations.
- Build and manage a strong self-generated sales pipeline.
- Develop opportunities generated through marketing, technology partners, events and referrals.
- Own and strategically develop key customer relationships.
- Identify opportunities to expand services within existing accounts.
- Build trusted relationships with CIOs, CISOs, CTOs, IT Directors and other senior stakeholders.
- Lead commercial discovery and understand customers' wider business and security priorities.
- Work closely with technical and solutions teams to develop appropriate solutions.
- Manage complex opportunities through proposal, negotiation and close.
- Develop long-term account plans for strategic customers.
- Build strong commercial relationships with technology partners.
- Maintain accurate pipeline management and forecasting within the CRM.
- Contribute ideas and insight to the wider commercial strategy.
- Support the development of scalable sales processes as the business grows.
- Consistently achieve and exceed revenue and gross-profit targets.
- What Success Looks Like
You'll be someone who combines strong commercial instincts with excellent relationship-building skills.
You'll know how to create opportunities rather than simply wait for them, while also recognising that some of the most valuable growth comes from developing long-term customer relationships.
You'll be: highly self-motivated and comfortable working autonomously; proven at creating and closing new business; strong at developing and expanding existing accounts; commercially confident and comfortable asking for the business; credible with senior technology and business decision-makers; consultative rather than transactional in your sales approach; disciplined around pipeline, forecasting and follow-up; comfortable working collaboratively with technical specialists; motivated by building something and having a visible impact on a growing business.
Experience
Ideally, you'll bring
- 5+ years' experience in B2B technology sales, account management or business development.
- A strong track record of achieving revenue and/or gross-profit targets.
- Experience winning new customers and growing existing accounts.
- Experience selling IT services, managed services, cloud, cybersecurity or complex technology solutions.
- Evidence of generating your own pipeline and creating opportunities.
- Experience managing complex sales cycles and senior stakeholders.
- Strong negotiation and commercial skills.
Experience within a cybersecurity VAR, MSSP, MSP, technology reseller or consultancy would be particularly valuable.
A Role That Can Grow With You
This is an important hire. The business is building the commercial capability needed for the next stage of growth, and wants someone who can grow with that opportunity.
For the right person, this role has the potential to develop beyond individual account ownership into senior commercial and sales leadership responsibility as the team expands.
If you're currently working within a larger reseller, MSP or technology business and want greater autonomy, visibility and the opportunity to influence how a company grows, this could be an exciting next step.
Why Join
You'll join a fast-growing independent cybersecurity business with established customer relationships, strong technology partnerships, marketing and demand-generation support, technical pre-sales expertise, a broad portfolio of cybersecurity solutions and services, direct access to the leadership team, genuine autonomy, uncapped earning potential, and clear opportunity for progression as the company scales.
