The Opportunity

We're looking for an ambitious Account Manager to join a growing commercial team and help drive the next stage of this cyber security business's growth.

This is a varied role combining new business, account development and relationship management.

You'll work with a portfolio of existing customers, identifying opportunities to deepen those relationships and introduce additional services where they add genuine value.

Alongside this, you'll be responsible for developing new business.

You'll have support from marketing campaigns, technology partners, events, referrals and targeted prospecting activity, but we're looking for someone who is also proactive in creating opportunities for themselves.

The right person will be commercially driven, naturally good with people and comfortable taking ownership of their own pipeline.

  • What You'll Be Doing
  • Develop new business through self-generated prospecting, networking, referrals, partner relationships and targeted outreach.
  • Convert opportunities generated through marketing campaigns, events and technology partners.
  • Build strong relationships with IT Directors, CISOs, Heads of IT and other senior technology stakeholders.
  • Manage and grow a portfolio of existing customers.
  • Identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities across the cybersecurity portfolio.
  • Develop dormant and under-utilised accounts.
  • Understand customers' business and security priorities and identify relevant solutions.
  • Manage opportunities through discovery, proposal, negotiation and close.
  • Work closely with the technical team to develop the right solution for each customer.
  • Build strong relationships with technology partners.
  • Consistently achieve agreed revenue and gross-profit targets.
  • What Success Looks Like

You'll combine strong relationship management with genuine commercial drive.

You'll be proactive in creating opportunities, confident in developing new relationships and equally focused on growing the potential within existing accounts.

You'll take ownership of your pipeline, follow up consistently and look for ways to turn conversations into long-term customer relationships.

We're looking for someone who is

  • Persistent and organised in their follow-up.
  • Comfortable working independently and taking ownership.
  • Motivated by building long-term commercial value.

Experience

Ideally, you'll have

  • 2+ years' experience in B2B technology sales, account management or business development.
  • Experience within IT services, managed services, cloud, cybersecurity or a related technology environment.
  • Experience winning new business as well as developing existing customers.
  • Experience managing opportunities through the full sales lifecycle.
  • Confidence communicating with senior business and technology stakeholders.
  • Strong commercial and relationship-building skills.
  • You'll Thrive Here If

Cybersecurity experience is advantageous, but we're equally interested in strong technology salespeople with the right commercial mindset and willingness to learn.

You'll thrive here if

  • You love creating opportunities rather than waiting for them.
  • You have a genuine hunter mentality.
  • You enjoy opening new doors.
  • You're self-motivated and accountable.
  • You want to help build a growing business.
  • You want your earnings to reflect your performance.

You'll spend your time creating and qualifying new opportunities, running discovery meetings, developing commercial solutions, negotiating and closing business, building a predictable sales pipeline, and becoming a trusted advisor to customers.

What You'll Have to Work With

You won't be starting with a blank sheet of paper.

You'll have access to industry events and networking opportunities, established technology partnerships, technical and solutions support, a broad cybersecurity portfolio with significant cross-sell potential, and direct access to the leadership team.

We'll give you plenty to work with and we're looking for someone who can use that platform to create even more opportunity.

Why Join

This is a fast-growing business, but still small enough for great people to make a genuine impact.

You'll have autonomy, direct access to senior leadership and the opportunity to shape your own customer relationships and commercial approach.

As the business continues to scale, there will also be genuine opportunities to progress into more senior commercial and leadership roles for people who perform and want to grow with the team.

The office is based in the heart of St Albans city centre, with hybrid working available.
